Philipsburg — A must-stop Montana gem. Mine for sapphires at Gem Mountain or Montana Gems, satisfy your sweet tooth at the famous Sweet Palace candy store, grab a craft beer at Philipsburg Brewing, and don't miss Winning Ridge Ale House for dinner, Doe Brothers for burgers, Kikos for Mexican, or Zia's for a night out. History buffs will love Granite Ghost Town State Park and the Granite County Museum. Summer visitors will love Alaina's Grub food truck. Rent an offroad vehicle from Flint Creek Rentals and hit the trails to find alpine lakes and gorgeous views of the Pintler Mountains.
Anaconda — Anaconda offers a surprising mix of history and recreation. The Art Deco Washoe Theatre is one of the best-preserved in the Northwest. Old Works Golf Course — a Jack Nicklaus design built on a historic copper smelter site — is a bucket-list round. Downtown's walkable historic district has coffee shops, local boutiques and great restaurants like Jordi's Cantina for Montana style Tex-Mex, and Gallicano's for pizza. Washoe Park is a beloved 28-acre community park with a duck pond, splash pad, playground, and picnic areas — a perfect afternoon stop for families with young kids in the summertime!
Georgetown Lake itself is the area's crown jewel — world-class fishing, boating, and ice fishing in winter, all just minutes from your doorstep.
During your stay, the entire cabin is exclusively yours to enjoy. The garage is not available to guests, however there is plenty of parking on front of the cabin. The morning of your arrival we will send you check-in instructions and a door code to let yourself in when you arrive at check in time.
The Grizzly Den is laid out across two comfortable floors (main floor and a basement), sleeping up to 8 guests with room for everyone to spread out.
Main Floor features a cozy living room with a sliding glass door opening onto the open deck, where a gas grill and sweeping views of Georgetown Lake and the surrounding mountains await. The kitchen retains its charming vintage 1950s metal cabinets — a nod to the cabin's history. Two bedrooms on this level include one queen and one double, served by a full bath.
Basement Level is a fantastic retreat for kids and overflow guests alike. Accessed by a spiral metal staircase, the third basement sleeping area features two double beds, and the adjoining family room offers couches and a TV — essentially a second living space perfect for movie nights or giving the kids their own hangout. A second full bath and a washer/dryer round out the lower level.
Your own vehicle is necessary for getting to the property and for exploring Georgetown Lake, Anaconda, and Philipsburg. There are no taxis or driving services available in the area. It is highly recommended that you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle and snow tires or chains in the winter months, Montana weather is unpredictable and the roads can become icy or covered in snow.
